I've been knitting away over the last little while but nothing is even close to finished. Lace and fair isle are time consuming for me and even though I like knitting them sometimes it feels sort of relentless. The challenges that each new technique presents always interest me but I wonder if I'll ever like lace as much as anything else I knit. It just isn't very practical for me to ever wear, the fairly cold climate that I live in makes me lean towards wool that covers me from head to toe. A wool snow suit might not be a very faltering look but I think I could become a big fan of long johns. Hmm, maybe they should go on my list of things to make.
An Endpaper Mitt, Flame Lace Scarf and Odessa, waiting for some love.
You might have noticed that I have a little bit of a thing for gray and black. It's not just limited to my current knitting, my clothes have a real tendency towards gray at the moment. Someday I'll give you a glimpse of my horde of gray sweaters but it might take me a while to come to grips with it. Usually I knit with colors that might not end up in my closet otherwise, for some unknown reason I can knit a color that I would never pick out other wise. But recently my inherent tendencies have taken over leaving the cranberry yarn as the only bright spot. My downstream partner in HSKS is part of Gryffindor so I've been spending quite a bit of time looking for scarlet and gold yarn and accessories, it's sort of fun being pushed out of my color pallet.
