Since I've been finishing things recently (even my HSKS3 bag is done) casting on for Glee was allowed. I know that I said that my next sweater project was going to be a Something Red but I loved the yarn for this sweater and did a little swap in the line up. I'm ready for a straight stockinette project, for the last little while almost everything has been stranded, socks, or lace and some monotony might be a nice change of pace.
Don't you just love this deep purple color? Do to my current obsession with gray there is not even one stitch of clothing in a color this rich in my closet. Even the little stitch markers bring out the jewel tones. The original Zephyr sweater was made out of Knitpicks alpaca, in the end style plus function lead me to choose the Uruguay DK. Hopefully the blend of merino, alpaca and silk will be just as wonderful to wear as it currently is to knit.
Glee will be my first top-down, knit in the round sweater- I know, I know get with the program. There is something mesmerizing about watching my sweater come to life as I knit. The sleeves are still a ways off but I can't wait to see how they will work out. Until I've knit something once it's always seem to be a leap of faith the first time I knit something different. Knitting is constantly entertaining and unlike tv I'm left with clothing at the end of the day.
