Meg at Everyday Autumn pulled out all her Earth yarns yesterday so of course I had to follow suit. I don't have anywhere near as many as she does but I think I'm doing okay stash wise. Can you tell that I have a lot of sock yarn that will work well for project spectrum? Every skein but one is fingering weight so I don't have much choice about what to knit. The little bit of something on the needles is another sock that I started yesterday in Louet Gems Fern. How perfect is that for a Earth yarn? Come to think of it Birch over Moss, Spring and Caribou all work well name wise.
The good thing about the lack of sweater quantities is that I'll be on airplanes for quite a bit of the month and socks or mitts travel well. At least I hope they will, I don't want another repeat of the "rip the knitting off the needles to make sure they aren't fake" snafu.
I need to use at least some of this yarn to make my sister a pair of mitts for her birthday. We decided to make each other gifts this year so that she wouldn't feel guilty. I don't know what the guilt is all about since I thought the whole point of having a sister who's older is to mooch off of her. Isn't it?
The fantastic part of this arrangement is that she's quite the artist and having something of hers up here will be wonderful. I keep meaning to get her to paint for me but forget. This way she'll be happy and I'll have no guilt gift knitting.
