I realize I've been silent for a while but I think I have a good excuse - dogs. I'm not a pet owner (not even a fish) so taking care of two dogs while their owners are away has been interesting. Basically they are great dogs but the constant attention needed really cuts into my knitting time.
I attempted to take a picture of them together but that was never going to happen and taking the path of least resistance seemed best. This is Ally, she's an attention hog and I'm fairly sure she's eating all the food not just her own. No idea what to do about that other than sit in the kitchen and monitor the food dishes all day long - not particularly realistic.
Pipin on the other hand is really old and mostly lies on the floor with his head in the corner. He doesn't want to go outside except to do his business and then wants in right away. He seems lost without his owners, he's used to someone being with him all the time and gets confused whenever I leave.
The only thing that gets them both excited is me knitting. As soon as I start they try to play with the yarn, needles and even attempt to bite the fabric. The sticks and string must look like toys to them but since I'm not about to share my knitting has been almost abandoned. Today I did get some done sitting outside while they played in the yard so I'm going to try that again. I need to increase my knitting time lest the big Christmas knit doesn't get finished.
