140 stitches on 2.25mm needles doesn't look like that much when you first cast on. The first few rounds of any project tend to be my favorite. They hold all the possibilities and after a sometimes tedious cast on they also get me into the rhythm of the pattern. I'm knitting Skinner (rav link) and haven't seen that many versions of it yet so I'm hoping the pattern is well written.
In this case I started out with magic loop and very quickly remembered that I hate it and switched over to dpns. Every time I see someone talking about how much they love magic loop I think there must be something I'm missing and try again. I've come to the conclusion that I'll never really like it and should just stick to my trusty dpns.
P.S. An Arctic Trip to the Beach is an entry into a contest for a trip to New Zealand made by my friend Larissa and her fiance Caleb. If you want a laugh go watch them on their adventure and you could even give them a vote or two :)
