Here is the swallowtail shawl that I finished back in December. My plan was to use it to teach my sister how to block lace but in the end time got away from us and I blocked it on my own. Just as I'd started blocking the phone rang so I put my friend on speaker phone and we chatted while I worked. She said she saw Martha Stewart block a sweater once and couldn't believe anyone would go to that sort of trouble.
It was funny to hear her comments when out of all the people I know she's the most Martha-esque. If anyone in my acquaintance is likely to have perfectly folded sheets coupled with the ability to create elegant decorations from white paper and twigs it's her. Thinking about that conversation has me inspired to grab a bunch of branches shove them into an over sized vase and call it an arrangement, the urge will probably pass soon enough.
